Puppy Love: Adopted Dog Inspires 5-year-old Girl
When Aubrianna met Kovu, she wished all puppies could find forever homes, too.
Aubrianna + Kovu
When 5-year-old Aubrianna fell in love with a puppy named Kovu, she wished that all adoptable pups would get a second chance.
"I picked him because he gave me lots of kisses and because he is brown and cuddly. I was so excited to take him home!"
Dear Holiday Wishes,
We saw puppies in cages. They didn’t have homes. We played with Kovu on the hill. I picked him because he gave me lots of kisses and because he is brown and cuddly.
I was so excited to take him home! He got to sit on my lap the whole way. I love my new little brother. He loves when I feed him peanut butter.
I wish all puppies have homes because they need lots of love, water and food and to learn not to pee in the house.
Each year, the Petco Foundation invites adopters to share the story of how their adopted pet changed their lives during the annual Holiday Wishes campaign, giving the organization that they adopted from a chance to receive a grant award. This story by Aubrianna won Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin, Illinois a 2019 Holiday Wishes award.
