The Petco Foundation, Blue Buffalo and Merrick Dog Food funded a project to build a new catio (cat patio) for Rancho Coastal Humane Society. They sent out some of their executives from across the country to work with the organization to help build it. A grand opening will take place next month with cat adoption specials.

Since Skechers’ partnership with Petco Foundation began in January 2019, the company has helped save more than 155,000 animals, a new lifesaving record for the BOBS for Dogs brand. Through more than $830,000 in donations to Petco Foundation, Skechers has supported more than 63,500 animal adoptions at local shelters and rescues nationwide, over 86,900 adoptions at Petco stores, community-wide adoption events that have found loving homes for more than 5,000 pets, and more than 11,000 spay and neuter surgeries.

The Petco Foundation is awarding $750,000 in Holiday Wishes grants to animal welfare organizations. The Pitt County Animal Shelter is encouraging folks to share a story about how your pet brightens your life to help them receive funding.

Mention: FEMA has given the Denham Springs Animal Shelter the go-ahead to renovate after the 2016 flood nearly wiped them out. FEMA awarded the shelter with around $300,000. Petco Foundation gave the shelter $200,000 and a GoFundMe started by a concerned citizen after the flood helped the shelter raise $130,000. The organization said the FEMA money will be used to get the buildings up to code, while the GoFundMe and Petco Foundation money will be used for fencing, extra kennels, and anything the FEMA funds won’t cover.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi held a wellness pop-up clinic for animal owners at the Lyman Community Center. The clinic was made possible in part by a grant from the Petco Foundation.

Petco for the first time is stocking shoes for humans as part of a cause-driven brand partnership. The pet retailer has partnered with Skechers and its charitable footwear collection, Bobs from Skechers, to launch a coordinated line of footwear and Petco-exclusive collars, leashes and harnesses. The merchandising effort is part of a multiyear partnership that kicked off in January, through which Skechers is supporting the Petco Foundation by slating 25 cents to the organization for each pair of Bobs from Skechers shoes sold in the U.S. (at Petco or elsewhere).

The Petco Foundation recently presented the Animal League of Gaston County with a check for $14,000. The funds will go toward the league’s spay/neuter clinic.

Lewis Clark Animal Shelter announced it has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Petco Foundation. The shelter says the funds will extend its ability to support its lifesaving efforts in Nez Perce County and Asotin County.

Blue Buffalo Foundation and The Petco Foundation have entered a partnership to provide a grant of $750,000 to Morris Animal Foundation. Reportedly this grand sum of investment is an initiative taken to fund Morris Animal Foundation’s research initiative related to osteosarcoma and other additional studies related to pet cancer.

Mention: Petco Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to Halifax Humane Society of Daytona Beach. The grant will help the society increase adoptions, transport animals and provide low-cost spay/neuter services.

Finding your lost dog just got a little easier, thanks to Sacramento’s Front Street Animal Shelter. The shelter rolled out a texting program that gives pet owners resources to find their missing pet, including places to look and platforms to post on. The funding for Lost2Found came from the Petco Foundation’s “Innovation Showdown,” where the shelter competed against 200 other agencies and nonprofit groups for a hefty sum of prize money to help implement their idea.

K-9 Boss is back on duty for the City of Miami Police Department after surviving cancer. His K-9 unit recently received a grant to assist with his medical expenses. The collaborative grant is from the National Police Dog Foundation and the Search Dog Foundation who administers funds provided by the Petco Foundation for the treatment of cancer in K-9s.

After months of planning, and fundraising, Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control now has a new surgical suite. As of this weekend the new medical room will be open for business. It was made possible through a $50,000 donation from the Petco Foundation.

The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society has been awarded a $65,000 grant from the Petco Foundation, which will assist in covering the cost of medical treatment to animals awaiting their forever home.
